About Davida Shensky

When Davida entered school there were no laws guaranteeing people with disabilities the right to an education, therefore, her teachers did not understand that CP affects how the brain processes information or that she learns differently.  She also grew up in a dysfunctional family where there was a lot of physical, emotional, and verbal abuse, so as a child she had low self-esteem.  It was only after entering college and studying both mental health and psychology did she learn to turn her mindset from a negative on to a more positive one.  She holds an AAS in Mental Health, BS in Psychology, and credits towards a Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling (employment counseling for people with disabilities).  She attended Toastmasters and received both the CTM and ATM certifications.  As member of NSA-GA Chapter she participated in their mentoring program and put together a speech Success is my Only Option!  She attended the American Seminar Leaders Association University and received the Certified Seminar Leader (CSL) Certification.  She participated in the Stores Online Presentation on SEO.  She is Certified as both a Laws of Attraction & Life Coach.

It was while she was in graduate school the Individual Disability Education Act became law.  For the first time in 1977 people with disabilities were guaranteed the right to an education up to age 21.  She has an advocate for disability rights because no one in her family would advocate for her.  When she lost her job with the state and was unable to secure gainful employent she took matters into her own hands and decided to take matter into her own hands and create her own opportunities.  She was more aware than most as technology took hold the changes that was going on in the workplace and how it opened up new opportunities. and made it a much more equal playing field in the workplace.

As companies began to trim down their rosters, we were coming full circle back to the small businessman.  Only now instead of standing on street corners selling our wares, we now sell them from websites or rather they're now  known as Ecommerce stores.  That also created the new industry of digital marketing, since small business entrepreneurs needed a way to compete and generate sales with increased traffic and referrals.

Davida Shensky has owned her own business for the last 30+ years since she entered the workforce 12 years and before the Americans with Disabilities Act became law.  it is not the limit she places on herself but the limits that society places on her due to their misunderstanding of the disability community at large. She has had to learn to become her own advocate and to think outside of the box when it comes to employment.  She started Career Performance Institute and works with both companies and individuals to help them reach their maximum potential in life and learn to create opportunities for themselves, due to the changing workplace, just as she had to do, when she entered the workforce.
